The Simple Fare

The Simple Fare offers deliciously unique dishes. Every item we ordered was scrumptious. Special shoutouts to the tandoori chicken sandwich and the kati rolls. Loved the coffee too! We’re looking for a reason to travel back to Millburn so we can enjoy The Simple Fare again!

We discovered this hidden gem while walking around Millburn.The entrance isn’t super obvious, but once you’re inside, it’s such a great find. We ordered an iced latte and a hot matcha latte, along with the banana bread with caramel. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was just what we needed to focus and get some work done.

A true Gem in the heart of Millburn, A Simple Fare, offers a delightful blend of cozy ambiance, delicious home-style sandwiches, salads and tea (that’s what we tried today) Their Bombay Sandwich & Bun Muska were a standout, and the house-made tea was simply divine. Overall, a fantastic experience We can't wait to return for another delicious meal. Whether you're looking for a quiet spot to work or a relaxed catch-up with friends, this cafe is a perfect choice, with a genuine warmth that keeps you coming back for more

Wow I’m blown away by the food here; everything I ordered was soooo delicious—filling but with a delicate & unique balance of flavors. We ordered the tandoori chicken sandwich, Kati roll, tomato/goat cheese/balsamic toast, iced chai tea, & tried all the scones. The scones were on par with (or maybe better than?!) the Able baker in Maplewood. Especially loved the apricot cardamom one. The chicken sandwich was amazing, will be ordering that again! Chai tea was legit/authentic. Tasted homemade. Atmosphere & staff were both lovely.

We had a great experience at The Simple Fare! The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. We especially loved the pistachio rose cake - it was absolutely divine and devoured within a minute! Better eaten warmed up in case you do takeout. Also tried the Bombay sandwich, chili cheese toast, bun maska and chai - all of which were pretty good. We had the date fennel cardamom scone right out of the oven and the owner mentioned they bake small batches every 20 mins. The atmosphere was also very cozy coffeeshop-esque and inviting. We would definitely recommend this place for a casual lunch or brunch.

The Simple fare is an adorable cafe that serves delicious creative yet comforting Indian bites, refreshing coffee & tea, and delightful cakes. The vibe is cozy & relaxed with an outdoor patio complimented by a fountain. The service is pleasant & the owner graciously walked me through their story, the inspiration behind the cafe & the mouthwatering menu they so thoughtfully designed. I enjoyed their salted caramel cold brew, rose pistachio cake, & tandoori chicken sandwich - can’t wait to visit again & try more things. The Simple Fare wins your heart with its concept & soul satisfying food.

DELICIOUS!! Came here for lunch with my wife, son and in-laws and The Simple Fare is exactly what its name suggests—simple, honest food done exceptionally well. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and a sense that this place truly cares about what it serves. Every dish we tried felt thoughtful and homemade, with fresh ingredients and a clear focus on quality. The tandoori chicken sandwich and the rose pistachio cake were my absolute favorite and something I’m still dreaming about. Can’t wait to go back!
